Rules relating to lifts are set out not only in the Lift Directive 2014/33/EU but also in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Please check which directive applies to your specific product.

The 12th Ordinance to the Product Safety Act (the Lift Ordinance - 12th ProdSV) implements European Directive 2014/33/EU (the Lift Directive) into German national law. It regulates the placing on the market of new lifts and the making available on the market of new safety components for lifts. Among other things, the Ordinance stipulates the CE marking by which the manufacturer or installation company confirms compliance with all requirements of the Ordinance.
