The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA) adopts an integrated Work and Research Programme every four years as a framework for the extensive activities it carries out in its different areas of responsibility: research and development, policy advice, regulation, and transfer and communication. The Programme also defines BAuA’s technical objectives for the programme period, sets out the systematic links between its research and development efforts and its other science-based core tasks, and lays down a structure for the performance of its responsibilities and the work it does on a huge range of topics.
Fields of action, focus programmes, and research projects
Each of BAuA’s research projects is assigned to one of its strategic fields of action or special focus programmes. A systematic overview is provided below.
