The control guidance sheets of the easy-to-use workplace control scheme for hazardous substances (EMKG) are an established tool for the communication of risk mitigation measures to the users. In the previous project F 2314, users, multipliers and stakeholders were asked for their opinion about the existing control guidance sheets. All of the target groups confirmed a high need for updating the existing control guidance sheets and for developing new ones. Series 100 has already been updated. Some task-specific control guidance sheets of series 200 have recently been validated by measurements in projects F 2309 and F 2403.

In the MapS project, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is addressing the control guidance sheets of series 200. The aim is to check them for relevance and, if necessary, to adapt them to state-of-the-art modes of operation and procedures. Until now, the measures in the "Skin" module have focused on protecting the hands. Additional measures to protect the entire body are now to be added. Measures for protection against fire and explosion will also be supplemented.

Furthermore, new task-specific control guidance sheets are being developed. Tasks with peroxides as well as tasks in surface-treatment and forming processes are taken into account. After completion of the project, the control guidance sheets will be integrated in the EMKG-products and published on the BAuA website.
