Description:
Jobs in industrial production impose high demands on the physical performance of employees. Especially for older employees, these demands provide a great challenge often combined with the risk of serious health consequences.
To ensure safe, healthy and productive work, the INDIVA project aims to develop an individualized adaptive work assistance system represented by a human-robot-collaboration setting. The aim is to plan and implement an optimal allocation of work tasks between the human and supporting machine in a semi-automated production work system. One of the main objectives is the comprehensive and virtual planning of human-robot-collaborations using digital human models.
The key research contributions of BAuA is to develop a computer-aided procedure for an intuitive and easy-to-use motion capturing of physical parameters (anthropometry and biomechanics) and to address the usability of the proposed procedure for the end-user as well as the technology acceptance of the employees. The worker-specific parameters are the basis for the individualized design of the workplace where the robot collaborates with the human.
The research project "INDIVA - Individualized socio-technical work assistance systems for production" is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the context of the research program "Technik stellt sich auf den Menschen ein - Innovative Schnittstellen zwischen Mensch und Technik" and is coordinated by VDI/VDE-IT (funding number: 16SV6253).
