Assessment of the thermal stress in working premises where there are elevated outdoor temperatures

  • Project number: F 2039
  • Institution: Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e. V.
  • Status: Completed Project

Description:

The increasing frequency of very hot summer days as a result of global warming is leading to an increased thermal stress even at workplaces not normally exposed to heat. The consequences are a hazard to health, a reduction in efficiency, greater accident risk and dissatisfaction on the part of employees. It is intended to conduct tests on subjects aimed at determining measures to protect health and of quantifying losses of performance or productivity. Indoor temperatures are to be determined taking office work as an example.
