Together with other occupational safety and Health institutes, BAuA established the Partnership for European Research in Occupational Safety and Health (PEROSH) in 2003.
PEROSH is a free association of currently 13 occupational safety and health Institutes from 12 European countries. The basis for this cooperation is the PEROSH Charter, which was signed by the members in Dublin, Ireland, on 7th of November 2008. As a free-lance association, PEROSH does not have its own legal form.
The objectives of this partnership are as follows:
- to improve mutual cooperation in research and development projects in order to exploit synergies and to avoid duplication,
- to create better opportunities to raise EU research funding in joint consortia and
- to strengthen occupational safety and health by pooling research within the European institutions.
In order to intensify or facilitate cooperation, the expired PEROSH statute was revised in 2008 and extended by a few elements. The most important provisions of the statute are:
- each partner institution independently bears the costs associated with its own PEROSH activities,
- the partnership has its own coordinator.
