The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is one of BAuA's most important European partners when it comes to legal procedures for the protection of man and the environment from hazardous substances.
These include the REACH procedure (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals) for chemicals assessment and risk management, which has, among others, replaced the existing waste process according to the EU waste regulation, the biocide approval procedure according to the Biocide Act and the EU Biocides Directive as well as the EU procedures for classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals (GHS - Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Laboratory of Chemicals - and CLP - Classification, Labelling and Packaging).
