The Strategic Research & Development Management staff unit is responsible for the strategic alignment and realisation of research and development (R&D) activities as well as for the efficient organisation of R&D management processes at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA).
It coordinates and evaluates the implementation of BAuA's strategic principles through multiannual R&D programmes, arranges for monitoring and quality assurance of these programmes and takes part in their further development. On the basis of the R&D programmes, it coordinates the planning, contracting , processing and evaluation of R&D projects at the Federal Institute and controls the R&D budget.
Furthermore, the staff unit is tasked with the central management of the Research Data Centre of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (FDZ-BAuA), and the monitoring of programmes to promote the work of up-and-coming young researchers and projects BAuA carries out with external funding.
The staff unit also serves as the administrative office of BAuA's scientific advisory board and its R&D council.
